    then remove NORTON, i hate it
    (did you PAY for it?)
    After the subscription is over, it gives you NAG screens and Pop-ups
    and also takes a LOT of memory

    Removing NORTON isnt easy though.
    You have to go to control panel/Admin tools / Services
    and turn off all norton AND Symantec services
    and ALSo change them to " DISABLED"
    then REBOOT
    then uninstall NORTON
    then, run REGVAC

    download AVG, and SPYBOT, they are free

  • For someone who is "A+ technician" I'm surprised that person has never heard of Norton removal tool and that answer is absolute twaddle. Report Abuse


  • You may remove Norton because it hogs memory resources and get a free anti virus like AVG or Avira or Avast.
    Spybot S&D is for spyware protection so its good to have on your computer and run it once in a while---also they update the definitions once a week.
