have one because they thing they are filthy and dirty and vicous can anyone help me convince them to get me oneI was in the same boat as you. I begged my parents for a German Shepherd from when I was 10 years old and never got one. Finally after I moved out I was able to buy one for myself. He died about 3 months ago but he was my best friend in the world. If you research the breed and understand the amount of mental and physical stimulation they require and you are prepared to provide it, they are truely the best dog on the planet.Research the breed, and dogs in general.
show them that you are truly responsible for the dog by doing your chores and some extra ones. Then once in a while bring it up. This could be a semi long process so you have to keep up the chore thing ya know?
Dont give up things may turn your way...
Good Luck!If you stop asking for a while, you'll look mature and they might change their minds. But a German Shepherd demands a lot of training and space to exercise. If you don't have the time or know-how, he can become a real handful. I'd say adopt a retired police-trained dog, if you can find it. But don't get this dog if you're not going to walk it for a couple of hours a day! They behave best if you walk them.My father felt that cats belonged in barns. As we had no barn, I had no cat until I was out on my own. You'll probably have to wait until you have your own home to bring a dog to as well, if your parents feel that strongly about it. Besides, do you really think it would be fair to a poor dog to have to live with two adults-in-charge who 'hate' him and all his kind? Wait. Meanwhile, perhaps you could volunteer at a shelter and learn how to care for a dog properly. Then when you do get your own, you'll be prepared.explain why they are wonderful pets. and include the positive but NOT the negatives of the dog. also explain how u will help care for the dog and pay for some things- toys food etc. 8D
or wait till u move outtheir not vicious and dirty
just depends on the breeder.
but just talk to them honestly.
but first show signs of responsibility for a few weeks
then talk
maybe you need a freind or the dog will make u happier
usually they will give in.
try adoption. most dogs there are purebreed.I have a German shepherd she is the SWEETEST dog ever...She always is good off leash at the park and always comes when called..She is good with kids cats and other dogs and NOT mean. German shepherds are just aware of strangers but if treated right will not be aggressive. They are the BEST dogs I could ever one and they are beautifulmost dogs that are vicious were brought up that way.most dogs that are 100% whatever breed are more hyper. mutts are usually not hyper. ask for a medium size, mixed dog. what ever you get, make sure you have it spayed/neuterd. that also helps make a dog calmer. i have been around dogs since my parents brought me home after my birth. i was 3 days old. i got my first cat when i was 9. i am over 60 and have 10 cats and 2 dogs. GOOD LUCKthey are amazing watch dogs and will defend you with their lives, they also are extremely loyal and will stick with you til the very end. and yes dogs get dirty but thats what baths are for.let them read this....German Shepherds are highly active dogs, fearless but not hostile and are often described in breed standards as self-assured and never shy. The breed is marked by a willingness to learn and an eagerness to have a purpose. Shepherds can be protective of their family and territory, Due to their loyal nature Shepherds bond well with children they know. While typically approachable, Shepherds do not become immediate friends with strangers. German Shepherds are highly obedient and not easily distracted. So this would make a great pet for a child not only would he be a friend and pet but also a protector. when i was growing up this is the only type of dog my parents would let me have because of how good it is with children and how well they protected me...my dogs were awesome i have had 4 german shepherds none of which were vicious or filthy...believe it or not but having a pet dog around is good for kid's health, according to a new study. it helps them to develop their immune systems and avoid allergies.
having a dog can also teach you patience and responsibility.
i grew up with doggies and they always make me feel loved. they never leave my side when i was sad. and german shepard will make a good protection dog when you are home alone.
any dogs (big or small) can be vicious if they were not raise properly. be sure to give you dog lots of love and attention.. and a bath every other week to keep him clean!
also use flea prevention such as frontline. my dogs NEVER have fleas or ticks. they also sleep on my bed with me and i cuddle them every night.
last but not least, if your parents are worried about shedding.. you can get hypoallergenic dogs that do not shed.
good luck and hope you can get one!Stomp

Or, wait until you move out and can pay for the animal along with all vet visits, supplies, food, training, etc. I had to wait until I moved out, like everyone else. I even waited 8 years AFTER I moved out of my parents house, so I could afford everything!#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
