  • Has anyone been to Loreto, Mx.? Would you want to own a house there?

  • I posted a similar thread in travel buzz but in hindsight I realize that is is really AS that services this small Mexican town and it would have been better to post here....( I amsorry if this is considered a double post....)

I was wondering if anyone has been to this small town and what you thought of it...We have friends who just bought a house there ( not part of the huge complex) and I was having trouble understanding what is there other than the Sea of Cortez......

  • Yes(many times)/No(but I do own a house in Los Barriles)

could you would you elaborate on the "no"...

You need to visit Loreto. Personally I would not want to own a house there. Another thing to consider is getting there. It is my understanding that Alaska is flying there because they are guaranteed a certain number of PAX by the large hotel south of town (cann't recall the current name) and the primary land developer south of town (your, "hugh developement"). Without Alaska's service this will be a much more difficult destination. Check the fares to La Paz since Alaska left the market. I have driven from California to San Jose del Cabo and back 14 times. I do not mind the drive as I was always staying at least two months. This drive is not for everyone and is not for a short trip. Although Loreto is not as for south as Los Barriles it is a long way from Seatle.
