i watched a program about a baby born with 2 faces. they were suposed to b a very poor family in india but they all had mobile phones with cameras.i dont get it! these countries plead poverty yet have all the mod cons! All mod cons? You do know a cheap mobile, even with a cameraphone, costs just a few pounds don't you?
In many developing countried mobiles are used for banking and trading and many other things that would be done over the internet or in person, except there isn't the infrastructure ot do it in person and many people cannot afford computers and internet access is limited.
Also, these countries do not "plead poverty" as you so eloquently put it. They are developing - in some parts they are very rich. India will be a lot richer than us in a decade or so. Yes, owning a mobile phone hardly constitutes "all the mod cons". Did you bother to look at how those people were living? They were getting drinking water from a well!!
You should ask yourself if you would be prepared to live in such conditions. I dare say the answer would be "no"."all the mod cons"?
I don't think owning a mobile phone makes you Donald Trump.
India is an emerging economy and therefore it's common to find modern technology in places where you wouldn't have dreamed a few years ago.
You know, they even have laptops for schools in Africa now. Mental.was it today tonight i dont believe a word that come from that show it agitates me when i watch it and i just start yelling at the screen...
but that is a bit odd i'd be suspicious
but there are different parts of india there is the modern rich hi tech part and the poor homeless partmaybe this a dark ? We went on a holiday to Namibia and visited a township, we noticed that despite the poverty, with them getting water from stand pipes etc. That there were quite a few mobile phones around, so we asked our guide who actually lived in the Township, and he said that the government had worked out that it was cheaper to install radio masts and issue sim cards (pay as you go), than to run all the cables etc of a standard system. He also said that all the phones were from charities in UK and Europe. Because there was limited (read none in homes) electricity they had a shop were they went to charge their phones. So now you know what happens to your mobile phone if you hand it and the charger into these charities that support the poorer countries. #If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
