  • Common Uniform Just About Here

  • As some of you have been zeroing in on one uniform or the other at various airports across Canada, you will have to start checking out the faces instead. The blend is happening quickly. This just came in today's e-mail.

CAW employees across Canada are wearing one common uniform.
Today, when customers arrive at airports across Canada, they’ll see
one seamless workforce. All Canadian Auto Worker (CAW) Customer
Sales and Service Agents Canada-wide are now wearing the Air Canada
uniform. As of mid-January 2001, all In-Flight Service crews will
    wear the Air Canada uniform.

  • Hi A Flygirl,

First of all, thank you for your information.

I saw a couple of CP's pictures and advertisment on their new uniforms when they first introduced their "Proud Wings" logo. It looks very nice, I really like it. The style itself looks ok, but it might be another story if AC uses their dark green on it. Anyhow, your information is greatly appreciated. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

  • Thanks BB, I hope to see you again sometime soon.

  • Hi A Flygirl,

Any words on the "new" AC uniforms from inside? When I say new, I don't mean the current AC green one. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

    Have a nice day flying.

  • Good to see you back on the boards Flygirl. Hope to catch up with you again in New York if I don't find you on one of the flights I am on.

  • Well Agincourt, the powers to be are pretty tight lipped about it but the skuttlebut(sp) is that serious consideration is being given to the test trials that were conducted by Cdn. for the new uniform that was supposed to be launched under Cdn's brand. The wear tests had been conducted with modifications made to the material. The colour scheme might be changed but the style is of interest to AC. The new uniform could very well be based on the research that Cdn. did on with a few simple variations.

FYI, the Cdn. uniform included pieces that were wool for winter and a blend of wool and synthetic material for summer - two sets we had. AC has no seasonal option - one uniform for all year round.

If you did not have the chance to see one, the Cdn. tested uniform was very dark blue, almost black with platinum accents for the pilots (epaulets and ties). The cabin crew accents were either gold or platinum in colour, depending on the status of the f/a. It will be interesting to see what the final product will be. Expect the new look to be introduced sometime in 2003. Subject to change. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
