  • I'm an SE delaying booking a trip to Hong Kong in mid-March until I see how this shakes out (i.e. waiting to see what fare I'll be able to upgrade from). Are many other people following this wait and see tactic or is anybody booking V fares with their fingers crossed? Or booking a V fare and hoping to pay for a higher fare if the rule stays the same?

    I know I would have been extremely pissed if I had booked the V class when I originally planned to and then found out about the changes...


  • No, many of us are simply not flying AC, period. I wouldn't bet on AC bringing back V class for us to upgrade, they simply don't give a ****.

    I myself am taking the long way to HKG in 2 weeks, flying UA to SIN and connecting to SQ just to show AC that I meant what I said and I am not giving them one freaking cent of my money until they smarten up. No way am I playing that upgrade lottery on that HKG route, over 50% chance that you won't get the C class even if you now get to upgrade 7 days prior. Also, AC does not sell V class on this route, only H class.


  • I am getting all the seats I need from the Elite non-capacity control, as far advance as I can plan. Oh yeah, let's count down now... 24 days left!
