Miles, deals and free stuff from PlanetRx

PlanetRx is closing March 12 and has marked down lots of merchandise at their site. They're out of a lot of stuff, but there are also some deals: mascara for about $1, watch batteries for $.30, PlanetRx-brand Glucosamine Chondroitin two 500mg, 60-tablet bottles for $4.

Bur there's more:

- Use ClickRewards and get 500 point bonus if you're a first-time customer. (One point per dollar spent if repeat customer.)
- These points can then be transferred to NW account to help in getting the 10K mile partner bonus offer
- If you buy PlanetRxs own products, they throw in one free for every one paid for.
- If you spend $20 or more, you get to chose three more items (from a selected list) free.
- Pay with a miles card and earn more.

The site clearly states that PlanetRx is officially closed as of March 12. Why would anyone place an order online at a site that specifically says "March 12 PlanetRx.com store officially closed" in bold text?

Seems pretty simple to me.....

me too, but it appears they're shipping stuff en masse. i had a couple of things from my order canceled, but i was assured i'd keep the clickrewards. as my order fell to $45 from $82, i won't complain. (multiple packages of a couple of spendy things.)

They sure take orders and promise miles but after they take the order they say sorry we closed on the 12th so no miles!

Got one order yesterday (placed 2/16) and another today that I placed 2/22. They must have gotten behind but looks like they are shipping out now. The charges hadn't posted to my card, and I was OK if I didn't get the stuff cause I mainly wanted the click rewards to transfer for the NW promotion.

They were out of most vitamins yesterday, but I did get like 16 bottles of the 500MG vitamin C, 100 tablets for $1.50 a bottle ($3, but buy one get one free) It took a while to find anything they had in stock to get some clickmiles. The click miles all posted within an hour, including the new customer bonus, etc. that said it would take longer.

My new customer bonus as well as my purchase points posted to my Clickmiles account in less than 24 hours.

They seem to be out of almost everything. I tried to find something to buy, but no luck.

I just finished placing an order. Very slim pickings, but they still seem to have most PlanetRx brand and those are all Buy 1 Get 1 Free. Nice deal.

FWIW, a call to their office yesterday yielded info that they were literally "swamped" with orders form the "big" sale and that they had supposedly just began processing/sending out orders received from 2/22/01! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eek.gif

I tried for about 45 mins this evening to buy some stuff on planetRX.com but couldn't get anywhere due to the painfully slow servers running their website.

Funny though, the Coricidin HBP banner ads at the top served up thru Doubleclick came through each time...I couldn't order anything because the pages would come thru empty, except for the top banner.

I finally gave up. Anyone else have any better luck?
