  • In Search of Stupidity

I think we ve found the stupid button!
We can t drill for oil in Alaska because it might turn the white snow black. We can t drill off the shores of Florida because it might chase off the shrimp and oysters. We can add new refineries anywhere in America (and have not for 20+ years) because they emit a foul order and sent pollutants into the air. So, let s do nothing, buy our oil from other nations, and send them our US$ s so they can buy the weapons to kills us and take over our nation in a few years down the road. Then they can drill wherever THEY can drill for the oil we wouldn t.

Our search for stupidity (spelled SUICIDE) has been successful.

While the world is running low on developed oil reserves, everyone but America seems to be searching for new fields, or finding new ways to extract what we know is available. Nations like Venezuela are using their oil for political gain to build dictatorships for the likes of Hugo Chavez. I need not mention the benefits to Iran, Saudi Arabi and other nations.

I guess God s just not on our side: like He is for Brazil.

God is Brazilian, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said Tuesday in relation to his government s announcement earlier this month that massive new oil reserves had been discovered offshore.
This discovery proves that God is Brazilian, he said during a speech at his presidential palace in the capital Brasilia.

His theological assertion is not original: Brazilians have long claimed that God shares their nationality on the basis of the natural resources at their disposal. The British magazine The Economist also already made reference to that saying in its take on the oil find in an article last week titled God may indeed be Brazilian after all.

Brazil s government and the state-run oil company Petrobras announced two weeks ago that exploration of its Tupi offshore field showed it had enough to increase national oil reserves by 50 percent. A new discovery nearby still being explored also appeared to contain enough petroleum to propel Brazil among the top 10 oil producers in the world.

Meanwhile back in America, oil search stupidity seems to know no lessons.
